In a significant step towards empowerment and social inclusion of persons with disabilities, the Chhattisgarh government is implementing the Marriage Incentive Scheme for Persons with Disabilities. Under this scheme, a one-time financial assistance of ₹50,000 is provided if one of the spouses is disabled, and ₹1,00,000 is granted if both partners are persons with disabilities.

To be eligible, applicants must be permanent residents of Chhattisgarh and possess a certified disability of at least 40%. The minimum age requirement is 18 years for women and 21 years for men, with an upper age limit of 45 years for both. The aim of the scheme is to encourage marital partnerships among the disabled, reduce social stigma, and extend financial support for starting a new life.
Interested beneficiaries can apply at their respective District Social Welfare Office using the prescribed application form. The final approval is granted by the District Collector after verifying eligibility. The scheme is operational across all districts of Chhattisgarh and is seen as a progressive step toward inclusive development.
