Scholarship Scheme for Higher Education of Divyang Students in Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh Government has launched a commendable initiative to support students with disabilities (Divyangjan) in pursuing higher education. Under this scheme, financial incentives are provided to meritorious Divyang students to help them overcome barriers in accessing quality education.

Scholarship scheme

Objective:-

The scheme aims to empower Divyang students—those with physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities—by providing monetary support based on academic merit, encouraging them to pursue secondary, higher secondary, vocational, and professional education.

Scholarship Amounts:-

₹2000/- for Divyang students scoring the highest marks in Class 10 at the district level.

₹5000/- for those scoring the highest in Class 12 at the district level.

₹6000/- for students pursuing ITI, Polytechnic, Graduation, or Post-Graduation (Arts, Commerce, Science).

₹12000/- for Divyang students enrolled in professional or teacher training courses (B.Ed., D.Ed., M.Ed., etc.).

Eligibility Criteria:

The student must be a resident of Chhattisgarh.

Must have a minimum 40% disability certificate.

Should have secured the highest marks in the respective examination at the district level.

Must be enrolled as a regular student in a recognized institution.

Application Process:

Eligible students need to apply at the District Social Welfare Office, along with the necessary documents like mark sheet, disability certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), study certificate, and bank passbook copy.

This scheme not only boosts the morale of Divyang students but also motivates them to aim higher in their academic journey.
